I’ve been busy creating new artwork for BluePrint. This is my first big show in the States and I couldn’t be more thrilled! I will be showing with Cinnamon Joe Studio. If you’d like to see more of my artwork feel free to contact them. I’m excited for the opportunity to finally be getting my artwork out there! I recently purchased a Cintiq 13hd and have loved illustrating on it, especially for hand lettering. I feel that I’ve finally found a tool that works for me. I don’t really consider myself a painter, and it’s frustrating that I can’t “undo” something when working that way. So being able to work in Photoshop with paintbrushes has been the perfect balance for me.

I love the chalk feeling of the image below. I think I only used one brush. I had been trying to create this in Photoshop for almost a year, but just couldn’t get it to look right, until I purchased a Cintiq 13hd.

The hand lettering brushes I use are from Shauna that she created for Retro Supply. You can grab a few of them for free here, or you can purchase the whole set here. Totally worth it in my mind! Another great resource for brushes is from Kyle Webster. I created the image below using them.
